About the Role

 

 

Reporting to the Supervisor Training, the Specialist Trainer / Assessor - Production will be responsible for executing the delivery of Training Plans. In this capacity, you will be actively involved in ensuring the relevance, quality and improvement of all resource material in addition to monitoring and increasing the competency of all personnel. This is an 8 on 6 off roster. This role is currently dayshift only.

 

 

Key responsibilities within this role will include:

 

 

  • Demonstrate commitment and conformance to the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations
  • Liaise with Mining Supervisors and the Training Supervisor on operator training required.
  • Ensure technical training is implemented as planned.
  • Maintain a training matrix for personnel
  • Ensure training materials are developed and updated in line with WAIO standards
  • Ensure adequately skilled operators are available across all shifts
  • Ensure training activities comply with the relevant Safe Work Procedures and statutory requirements. Including the new WHS Legislation
  • Assist in identifying and implementing initiatives that contribute value to the business

About You

 

To be successful in this position, you will be a collaborative, performance focused and output driven individual with the following skills and qualifications:

 

  • Possess a Training and Assessing Certificate IV TAE40116 or TAE40122. If you don’t have the CERT IV - you must be willing to work towards obtaining. (At our expense)
  • Valid Australian C class driver’s licence.

 

In addition, you will possess highly developed written and verbal communication skills complimented with the following demonstrated experience:

 

  • Experience in operating large Surface Mobile Equipment such as Excavators, Dozers and Loader is preferred
  • Experience operating other classes of machinery such as Trucks, Watercarts, Rock breakers and Graders etc. is beneficial
  • Previous trainer/assessor preferred.
  • Experienced in Field Builder/Pit Operator preferred.
  • Experience in a large-scale open pit mining operation preferred.
  • A proven track record of safety management
  • Experience in an Autonomous environment preferred.

Location

 

You will be based at our Jimblebar mine site on a fly-in fly-out 8:6 roster (Tuesday to Tuesday). Jimblebar is the first Greenfield mine in over 40 years to be both developed and operated by BHP Billiton Iron Ore and is located 40kms North East of Newman, Western Australia.  The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, golf driving nets, outdoor cinema, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court; beach volleyball court, games room and TV lounge. All rooms at the village have access to G wireless internet and Skype, an ensuite bathroom, flat screen television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
