About the Role
Reporting to the Supervisor Training, the Specialist Trainer / Assessor - Production will be responsible for executing the delivery of Training Plans. In this capacity, you will be actively involved in ensuring the relevance, quality and improvement of all resource material in addition to monitoring and increasing the competency of all personnel. The position is based at our Newman Operations (Whaleback) mine site on a fly-in fly-out 8:6 roster.
Key responsibilities within this role will include:
- Working with execution leaders, particularly Supervisors, to help build the required capability within their teams
- Conduct routine operations and safety activities to effectively prepare for and manage operational workload
- Design and deliver training plans, train and assess technicians and improves training programs to maintain safety, compliance and performance during operations
- Carrying out performance verifications against standards at the frontline including coaching others in assessment and verification processes
- Continuous monitoring of crews’ performance and initiating the necessary input or support to ensure standards are achieved and maintained
- Know our customer and strive to meet their needs
- Prioritise to achieving 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste of operational roles and activities
About You
To be successful in this position, you will be a collaborative, performance focused and output driven individual with the following skills and qualifications:
- Possess a Training and Assessing Certificate IV TAE40116 or TAE40122. If you don’t have the CERT IV - you must be willing to work towards obtaining. (At our expense)
- Valid Australian C class driver’s licence
- High risk qualifications, possess any of the High Risk Work License (HRWL) classes; Forklift (LF); Elevated Work Platform (WP); Dogging (DG)
In addition, you will possess highly developed written and verbal communication skills complimented with the following demonstrated experience:
- Experience in operating large Surface Mobile Equipment such as Excavators, Dozers and Loader is preferred
- Experience operating other classes of machinery such as Trucks, Watercarts, Rock breakers and Graders etc. is beneficial
- Experience in a large-scale open pit mining operation preferred
- A proven track record of safety management
- Experience in an Autonomous environment preferred
- Very good organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and work both independently and as part of a team
- Good experience and skills in the use of technology in managing work processes, data capture and compliance reporting
- Working knowledge of Learning Management principles
