About the Role

 

We are currently seeking Specialist Trainers with mining experience to join the MAC Mine Training Team. This is an exciting opportunity for safety-focused individuals who demonstrate a proactive approach to mentoring employees. In this role, you will deliver high-quality conventional training and assessment, drive continuous improvement, and problem-solve effectively during times of rapid change.

  • Learning Management System (LMS) / D2

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Drive business improvement by measuring BHP's performance.
  • Train and assess operators to maintain safety, compliance, and performance during mining operations.
  • Work autonomously with effective decision-making and problem-solving in project delivery.
  • Complete candidate progress reports and support strategies to drive learner success.
  • Source information and conduct analyses to support evidence-based decisions.
  • Implement training and governance practices to ensure compliance with BHP training records.

 

This position is based at the Mining Area C mine site in the Pilbara and follows a FIFO roster of 8 days on, 6 days off, day shift only.

About You

 

You will hold at least one of the following nationally recognized certifications in assessing:

 

  • Enterprise Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00015)
  • Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011 or TAESS00019)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessing (TAE40110, TAE40116, or TAE40122)

 

Skills and Experience

 

  • Strong communication and relationship management abilities.
  • Experience with MineStar System as an operator and/or trainer.
  • Proven ability to deliver face-to-face training and assessment both in the classroom and field.
  • Prior exposure to open-cut mining environments.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Minimum C-Class Driver’s License (unrestricted) essential.

 

Advantageous

 

Experience operating two or more of the following surface mobile equipment or equivalents:

 

  • Liebherr 9400, 9600, or 996 Excavators
  • CAT 980, 992, 994, WA1200, or WE1850 Loaders
  • CAT D10, D11 Track Dozers
  • CAT 16, 18, or 24 Heavy/Medium Graders
  • CAT 854K Wheel Dozers
