Our strategy is to focus on creating a safe work environment where our employees feel strongly connected to our values and objectives, and where the capability of our people is key to our success. Come and be a part of this success.

About the Role

BHP’s US$3.6 billion South Flank is a greenfield mine and brownfield processing centre created adjacent to and within the Mining Area C operation. Located approximately 130km north-west of Newman, South Flank together with Mining Area C will become one of the largest iron ore hubs in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore. South Flank will help to maximise the volume and quality of BHP’s iron ore production, which is essential for the world’s steel.

South Flank has recently reached a significant milestone in the delivery of first ore – safely, on time and on budget – underpinned by the hard work and ingenuity of our workforce.  Embracing inclusion and diversity to create a vibrant culture that represents the communities in which we live and operate, South Flank is focused on high performance, flexible work arrangements, strong Indigenous participation and gender balance.

We are seeking a number of inquisitive and team-spirited individuals to take on these key Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter, Auto Electrician or Boilermaker roles within the Standardised Work Team at South Flank.

You will contribute to the development of Standardised Work practices within the Mobile Equipment Maintenance team and ensuring we have safe, effective and constant maintenance standards that contribute to high mobile equipment availability.

You will also provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability and ensuring adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the planning process. As well as reviewing and requesting updates to Work Management and other Master Data as required.

About You

You will have the ability with your Mechanical Technical background to investigate, analyse and influence for an outcome focused result. You will have a passion for continuous improvement, problem solving and working effectively in a team, always having safety at the forefront of your mind.

In addition to the above, our ideal candidate will hold a Trade Certificate in Heavy Duty Diesel Fitting, Auto Electrician, HV Electrician or as a Boilermaker, have previous exposure with mobile maintenance and have a good understanding of Standardised Work practices.

Supporting a Diverse Workforce

The size and magnitude of our business not only provides significant opportunity for professional development, but also attractive salary packages with performance based bonuses and unique BHP employee share program.

At BHP, we recognise that we are strengthened by diversity. We are committed to providing a work environment in which everyone is included, treated fairly and with respect. We are an Equal Opportunity employer and we encourage applications from women and Indigenous people. We know there are many aspects of our employees' lives that are important, and work is only one of these, so we offer benefits to enable your work to fit with your life. These benefits include flexible working options, a generous paid parental leave policy, other extended leave entitlements and parent rooms.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, protected veteran status, citizenship, genetic information or other protected status under federal, state or local laws.
