About the Role

 

Hay Point Coal Terminal are seeking applications for a Standardised Work Technician. This full-time opportunity will play a key role in embedding Standardised Work across the site and supporting safe, productive, and consistent execution of work.

Reporting to the Maintenance Reliability Superintendent, the Standardised Work Technician will coordinate Standardised Work activities across HPCT, ensuring effective implementation, strong adoption, and sustained value delivery, this is a full-time Monday-Friday role based at our Hay Point Coal Terminal, Mackay. 

Key deliverables include:
 

  • Coach frontline and leadership teams in applying Standardised Work tools and practices to embed consistent ways of working.
  • Coordinate and support the rollout of Standardised Work across all departments, ensuring alignment with strategy and work management processes.
  • Identify and prioritise high‑value opportunities to standardise processes, improving safety, productivity, and sustainability.
  • Provide training, technical support, and in‑field observations to strengthen adoption and continuous improvement of Standardised Work routines.
  • Partner with the central Standardised Work team, MECoE, Reliability, and Planning to deliver asset‑wide initiatives and maintain site support needs.
  • Contribute to the Standardised Work Centre of Excellence through role modelling, coaching, and knowledge sharing.

About You

 

We are seeking a proactive, self‑driven individual with a passion for continuous improvement and standardisation. You will excel at coordinating initiatives, identifying improvement opportunities, and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes.

The successful candidate will possess the following:
 

  • Experience implementing Standardised Work, ideally supported by a Maintenance or Reliability background.
  • Proven capability in continuous improvement and project management to drive business outcomes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence from frontline teams through to senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated resilience, flexibility, and commitment to seeing initiatives through to completion.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to understand stakeholder needs and priorities.
  • Sound judgement supported by the ability to listen, analyse data, and make informed technical decisions.
  • Ability to work autonomously, adapt to changing priorities, and manage workload effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP/Fiori, and mobile devices (desirable).
