About the Role

 

Reporting to Manager Mining Equipment Maintenance, you will work closely with the team to coordinate and oversee the maintenance of ancillary mining equipment (Loaders, Dozers, Graders etc.) to achieve exceptional performance in safety, culture, cost and machine reliability. 

 

This is a residential role based in Newman on a 5 days on 2 days off roster. 

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader
  • Engage, develop and coach your team whilst ensuring an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment and sustainable development
  • Deliver exceptional work management outcomes that support equipment availability and reliability
  • Achieve cost, productivity and equipment performance outcomes
  • Utilise the BHP Operating System to ensure customer needs are met, with a frontline team engaged in problem solving
  • Manage risk
  • Develop and deliver on sub-department business plans and improvement pipeline

About You

 

To be impactful in this role, you are an experienced maintenance professional with the skills and desire to drive improvements. You will have a proven collaborative style with a key focus on strong team performance, stakeholder engagement and reliable delivery of value to the operation.

 

In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:

 

  • Trade qualification, professional qualification or degree in a relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership roles of large teams
  • A proven track record in safety management
  • Demonstrated success building cohesive and effective teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solution-focused with the ability to work well under pressure
  • A continuous improvement mindset
