The challenge ahead of you
In this role, you will lead and control the development and implementation of the maintenance and development strategy for fixed‑plant control systems, in order to ensure operational continuity and the development and improvement of control systems, promoting a safety culture aligned with BHP’s purpose and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying and assessing risks in line with BHP standards, using the company’s risk management framework, and strengthening a safety‑focused culture.
- Designing strategies to develop team skills and capabilities aligned with BHP’s values and purpose.
- Designing and coordinating the Control Systems Strategic Plan through a tactical plan that ensures performance and supports short‑ and medium‑term decisions.
- Coordinating and managing the support and maintenance model to mitigate risks and failures that impact operational continuity.
- Leading governance of the organizational structure (internal and external) to ensure compliance with management KPIs.
- Leading and coordinating improvement initiatives aligned with the area’s strategy and customer expectations.
- Leading lifecycle management actions and strategies to ensure high system availability.
- Administering and managing the Superintendency’s cost center budget.
- Performing tasks associated with the Service Owner role (service continuity, vulnerability management, maintenance, account management).
- Establishing routines with key service stakeholders to ensure continuity of the value chain.
- Ensuring proper operation of contracts that support the Superintendency, aligned with site and technology standards.
What we expect from you
Experience:
- 8 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of control systems.
- 5 years of proven experience leading work teams.
Required Qualifications and Technical Knowledge:
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Automation Engineering, Industrial Control, or related fields.
- Knowledge of Honeywell, Siemens, and Rockwell control systems.
- Knowledge of Fieldbus, Profibus, Ethernet IP, and Modbus TCP field networks.
- Understanding of P&ID, SLD, PFD, and technical specifications.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of copper plant production processes in hydrometallurgy and copper concentrate.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
- Strong commitment to safety culture and risk mitigation.
