About the Role
This role is for WAIO Superintendent Eastern FMS Operations. As the Superintendent you will be required to lead a team of up to 10 highly capable technical resources who support, maintain and improve a diverse range of critical Mining Operational and Safety Systems which are deployed within this region. We are seeking a motivated person who cares about people and safety and is passionate about enabling the Mining Systems Team to exceed our customer’s requirements.
This role is Perth based and is Monday to Friday. This role will require travel to the Pilbara region, approximately 6 times per year.
In this role, your key accountabilities will include:
- Support safety performance by coaching an embedded safety culture supported by adherence to policies, procedures, field leadership and training.
- Risk management performance through an embedded understanding of material risks and that the control execution and verification responsibilities of the team meet required compliance guidance
- Set and clearly communicate operational priorities, targets and expectations aligned with the departmental goals, customer requirements and BHP charter values.
- Support optimal resourcing of the team and ensure that capabilities, systems and processes are in place and well managed to enable highest possible effectiveness and efficiency of the team.
- Coach the operational performance of the team by ensuring quality of tasks, services and advice to the operations and asset functions are within the required service level agreements.
- Oversee management, supplier and customer stakeholder engagement
- Participate in the development of departmental business plans and budgets
- Oversee cost performance within budget and forecast accuracy guidelines
- Manage the commercial performance of contracted vendors and service providers
About You
- Effective team management, capable of engagement and influence across different stakeholders and the ability to manage conflicts and issues
- Experience overseeing safe operations, adherence to policies and procedures and coaching safe behaviour fundamentals
- Competent in supporting and managing medium sized, multi- discipline teams of technology specialists and professionals
- Ability to manage stakeholders and communicate clearly across multiple levels of the organisation, ranging from operational, technical and management teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to motivate and critically assess performance of employees
- Self-motivated and improvement focussed
- Ability to deliver quality results under operational time pressures
