About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Geoscience Operations, you will lead a team of exploration geologists, project coordinators and drilling and geophysics operations teams delivering 300 km of resource definition drilling across WAIO Pilbara portfolio. This is a high impact role shaping the future of BHPs Iron Ore program delivering volume replacement and growth opportunities for the business. Balancing strategic goals with tactical delivery you will drive a strong culture of safety, curiosity and stability as the exploration program moves across the region.
Responsibilities within the role will include:
- Ensuring safe delivery of exploration program including field leadership, risk assessments and control management.
- People and team leadership skills to drive project outcomes and can work collaboratively with other teams to achieve results.
- Ensure that the BHP Operating System (BOS) is reinforced and sustained and underpins how the operation is managed.
- Trade-off decision making between technical outcomes vs operational cost, aligned to business and budget commitments
- Strong focus on continuous improvement, to maximise efficiency and effectiveness of work.
- Ensuring the maximum value of collected data is realised for the business, coaching of exploration geologists and review of project deliverables.

- Prior experience in technical geoscience, exploration operations is be preferred
