About the Role


Reporting to the Manager Engineering, the Superintendent Governance and Technical Stewardship is based at the site and will lead a high-performance team of technical professionals.

This role will see you provide team leadership and functional expertise to deliver governance and technical stewardship at the site and provide support across the broader BMA asset.

You will establish and lead a team of technical specialists, engage technical subject matter experts and provide technical input to the operations. Additionally, you and your team will conduct technical governance and assurance activities to assist the asset manage its technical risks. You will be capable working effectively across a variety of stakeholders to ensure optimal outcomes for the business. You will benefit from the diverse and highly visible nature of the work you undertake.

This role will be based onsite at BMA’s Broadmeadow underground mine on a Monday to Friday basis, offering flexible work arrangements.

You will be required to:
 

  • Lead your team in the delivery of safe work practices that comply with the site Safety and Health Management System;
  • Build and maintain an inclusive and high performing culture focused on continuous improvement;
  • Manage Asset Integrity for the sites business critical equipment and infrastructure;
  • Ensure compliance to Engineering Standards across the site;
  • Lead a team of discipline engineers providing statutory governance and technical expertise to the Operation;
  • Govern the Management of Change process for all modifications and improvements to infrastructure and equipment;
  • Ensure all documents and drawings are managed in accordance with the blueprint standard;
  • Govern the technical document control system;
  • Manage costs according to the budget and be accountable for regular forecasting and rectifying variances;
  • Coach and mentor your team members.

About You


To be successful in this role you will:
 

  • Be an effective leader and a collaborative communicator with the ability to manage multiple business priorities simultaneously.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, allowing you to influence while also enabling you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with disciplines at all levels.
  • Have a detailed understanding of engineering principles, standards and processes.
  • Be tertiary qualified in Engineering.
  • Results in this role will be achieved through strong people management and long-term development of individuals in your team.
  • Mining industry experience and holder of current underground mining statutory Electrical Engineering Manager or Mechanical Engineering Manager competencies will be advantageous.

 

As the successful applicant, you will have:
 

  • Tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience working as a Mechanical, Electrical or Structural Engineer.
  • Experience in leading multidiscipline technical teams in an operational environment.
  • Experience & sound knowledge of Asset Management through maintenance and/or operation streams.
  • Well-developed communication skills & an ability to work across various stakeholders.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • RPEQ registration will be favourable, but not essential.
