About the Role

 

 

Responsible for the logistic supply chain scheduling and to manage the safe and efficient transport execution from Mine to Ports or local customers for copper cathodes, copper concentrate and from Port to Asset for mayor raw material sulfuric acid in accordance with specifications and handoverpoints agreed between the Asset and Marketing Business Unit. 
 This involves generation of export, regulatory and sales documentation and management of all related transport contracts.

 
Main Accountabilities:

 


•    Drives providers and service contracts used for the export of finished goods that support in logistics activities which requires Transportation Service (trains, trucks), Ports, Warehouse management, Surveyors.
 
•    Manages contractors employees (FTE) and the internal team for the activities at mine to cover the finish goods dispatch to port, and sulphuric acid discharge at the site
 
•    Compliance of international trade regulation, and local government requirements as declaration of each dangerous material movements and registration in Cochilco Portal of each sales contract.
 
•    Strong focus on safety and risk management to keep employees safety and avoid incidents and logistics chain disruption/ production impacts.
 
•    Set budgets for Logistics processes, tracking compliance to budget and executing continuous improvement processes to reduce cost and improve productivity
 
•    Coordinate with Site Operations, Planning and Marketing teams to identify and manage volume or quality schedule risks and engage on relevant safety topics.
 
•    Integrates production planning into an optimized logistics plan from mine to port to manage the export of finished goods.
 
•    Manages the coordination of the scheduling of the quality and quantity of products to the commercialization transfer point in accordance with the specifications agreed between the Asset and Marketing. 
 
•    Responsible for the relationship with governmental entities related to copper exports such as Cochilco and Customs.
 
•    Plans and executes the supply of sulfuric acid as a strategic input for cathode production.
 
•    Leads and manages the risks associated with the Mine - Port logistics chain for finished products and strategic inputs through operational continuity plans.
 
•    Performs registration for the movement of materials in the supply chain process, using 1SAP.

 

 

About You

 

 

To be a top performer you will need:

 
•    Professional degree in Engineering or similar related to the role
•    At least 10 years of experience in positions of similar responsibility, ideally within the mining industry
•    Width understanding of supply chain from mine to port.
•    Solving problems mindset in complex context.
•    Knowledge about legal framework and respective applicable regulation, such as: Laws 20.000 and 1.349.
•    Intermediate English level.
•    Availability to work in Escondida mine site, in 4x3 shift with flexibility.
•    Availability to travel within Antofagasta region for vendor management.
