This position will be based in Saskatoon. The associated work schedule will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.

The Challenge Ahead

In this role, you will:

  • Establish and lead the newly formed Maintenance Strategy Governance (MSG) team, building a high-performing team that delivers safe, reliable, and cost-effective equipment performance across the operation.
  • Develop and optimise maintenance and asset strategies to improve equipment reliability, manage risk, and maximise asset value throughout the equipment lifecycle.
  • Provide governance and oversight of maintenance standards, critical controls, and strategy changes to ensure compliance and operational integrity.
  • Use data, reliability insights, and performance analysis to identify improvement opportunities, solve complex problems, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Technical teams, and external stakeholders to align maintenance strategies with business objective.
  • Build capability and develop future leaders through coaching, succession planning, and fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture and operational priorities.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Degree in Engineering, Asset Management, Reliability, Maintenance, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong understanding of reliability engineering, risk management, asset criticality, and maintenance strategy principles
  • Proven ability to use asset performance, maintenance, and reliability data to drive business improvement and equipment performance.
  • Experience applying governance, assurance, and management of change processes within operational environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including building team capability, coaching others, and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Operations, Maintenance, Technical, and functional team
