About the Role
The role is based at Goonyella Riverside Mine and offers an opportunity to join our high performing Maintenance Team. In this role you will be responsible for:
- Providing direct leadership to the Field Ropes Maintenance Team
- Maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment
- Oversee compliance with legislation, safety systems, maintenance standards and procedures
- Delivery of the weekly asset management plan through which Maintenance and Production targets are achieved
- Management of outages on Draglines and Rope Shovels
- Site representative for Dragline and Ropes Shovel Major Shutdowns delivered by Major Shutdown Group
- Managing and delivering the Field Ropes Maintenance budget
- Managing contractor compliance
- Building capability within the team through development of Supervisors and Employees
- Communication and engagement with all relevant stakeholders
- Providing visible leadership, advice and support to site teams
- Driving a continuous improvement mindset and delivering improvement initiatives
- Role modelling the BHP Operating System (BOS) principles
About You
Your previous experience in leading a large team and building a positive workplace culture will be key to your success in this role.
- Trade or Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
- Experience working at a Superintendent level with draglines and rope shovels will be highly regarded
- Visible safety leader who develops and coaches your team
- Motivated, engaged and supportive people leader
- Proven frontline leadership experience leading teams to deliver high performance outcomes safely in a Maintenance or Mining background
- Strong engagement, influencing and collaboration skills in order to achieve the high level outcomes with your team
- Contractor Management experience
- Budget management skills
- Continuous improvement mindset
