About the Role

The role is based at Goonyella Riverside Mine and offers an opportunity to join our high performing Maintenance Team. In this role you will be responsible for: 

• Providing direct leadership to the Field Ropes Maintenance Team
• Maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment
• Oversee compliance with legislation, safety systems, maintenance standards and procedures
• Delivery of the weekly asset management plan through which Maintenance and Production targets are achieved
• Management of outages on Draglines and Rope Shovels
• Site representative for Dragline and Ropes Shovel Major Shutdowns delivered by Major Shutdown Group
• Managing and delivering the Field Ropes Maintenance budget
• Managing contractor compliance
• Building capability within the team through development of Supervisors and Employees
• Communication and engagement with all relevant stakeholders
• Providing visible leadership, advice and support to site teams
• Driving a continuous improvement mindset and delivering improvement initiatives
• Role modelling the BHP Operating System (BOS) principles 

About You

Your previous experience in leading a large team and building a positive workplace culture will be key to your success in this role. 

• Trade or Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
• Experience working at a Superintendent level with draglines and rope shovels will be highly regarded
• Visible safety leader who develops and coaches your team
• Motivated, engaged and supportive people leader
• Proven frontline leadership experience leading teams to deliver high performance outcomes safely in a Maintenance or Mining background
• Strong engagement, influencing and collaboration skills in order to achieve the high level outcomes with your team
• Contractor Management experience
• Budget management skills
• Continuous improvement mindset
