About the Role:

We are seeking a hands-on, experienced operational Mine Geology Superintendent to lead our underground mine geology and core processing teams onsite at Carrapateena.

In this role, all you will oversee all underground mine geology activities, driving technical excellence to ensure that geological information is not only accurately collected but translated into meaningful insights that support orebody optimisation and extraction.

You will be responsible for mentoring and developing a diverse and skilled team, helping them grow both technically and professionally.

Working on a fly in fly out 8/6 roster to Carrapateena Operations, you will have accountability from operation excellence to life of mine study projects. Across these teams and time horizons you will work closely to deliver a variety of geological outputs that assist the Carrapateena Operation to safely and reliably identify and optimise value from the deposit.

 

 

Location: Carrapateena, South Australia (60-minute flight from Adelaide / 30-minute flight from Port Augusta)
Roster: 8 days on; 6 days off

In This Role You Will:

  • Drive cultural and capability growth by inspiring your team and promoting an inclusive and supportive work environment.

  • Oversee key functional areas, including diamond drill design/scheduling, core logging and processing, underground production support, mapping and reconciliation.
  • Ensure Geoscience Excellence through delivering the right data at the right time to support geological outputs such as block models and 5-year plans.
  • Be accountable for effective contractor management including safety and performance management.
  • Champion continuous improvement in geological processes to optimise ore recovery, improve confidence and meet production goals.
  • Create and nurture successful working relationships across departments to ensure geological work aligns with broader operational needs.

About You:

  • Experienced operational geology leader with a proven ability to influence, coach, and mentor individuals and teams.
  • Passionate about people development with a focus on building a high-performing, cohesive team where everyone feels valued.
  • Committed to process improvement with a keen interest in innovation and new technologies to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborative mindset, able to align geological work with operational and business goals while fostering strong relationships with all stakeholders
  • Dedication to health and safety as a core priority for yourself and your team.
  • Exposure to underground mining and diamond drilling, with a solid understanding of mining cycles, grade control, and reconciliation.
  • Software experience in Vulcan, Leapfrog, and/or Deswik is desirable.
