About the Role
As the Mine Planning Superintendent at Saraji Mine, you’ll lead a talented team of engineers responsible for delivering safe, efficient and sustainable production plans. You’ll play a key role in shaping how the operation performs today and into the future.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading the short to medium-term mine planning function to achieve production and efficiency targets
• Coordinating mine designs, schedules, and pit optimisation activities
• Providing technical direction and mentoring to a high-performing engineering team
• Partnering with Operations and Maintenance to ensure plan execution aligns with business priorities
• Identifying improvement opportunities that enhance productivity, cost efficiency and sustainability
• Supporting life-of-mine planning and contributing to long-term strategic outcomes
• Championing safety, inclusion and continuous improvement across the team
About You
You’re a confident and collaborative leader who values teamwork and continuous improvement. You have strong communication skills and enjoy developing others to reach their full potential.
You’ll also bring:
• A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
• 2-3 years’ experience within Mine Planning on a Coal Mine site
• Proven experience in mine planning within open-cut coal operations
• Proficiency in mine design and scheduling software (e.g., Deswik, Spry, Vulcan)
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to balance priorities in a fast-paced environment
• A commitment to safety, inclusion, and high-performance teamwork
