About the Role
Reporting to the Manager Strategic Mine Planning, this exciting role will provide leadership to a team focussed on the design, strategic planning and optimisation of open cut mine to enable medium term mine progression.
The position will be specifically supporting a Pilbara based Hub ensuring the strategic plan for that hub is clearly established and maintained.
Responsibilities within the role will include:
- Modelling an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development.
- Deliver cost-effective mine designs, schedules, and mine plans with both tactical and strategic focus
- Working collaboratively with key stakeholder groups
- Support development of technical talent within the team
- Oversee and improve planning processes and documentation, including procedures and risk assessments including Managing Risk and Critical Controls
- Supporting internal and external audits and providing high quality Field Leadership
- Occasional Site Travel
- Validating alignment with directional Strategic Plans
About You

In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualified in a mining and resources related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Mine Planning knowledge with experience in the field across a range of planning horizons
- Prior use of Open Pit Optimisation/Mine Planning/CAD packages and/or scheduling packages
- Extensive demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated success in leading and coaching teams to achieve results
- Demonstrated success delivering complex and challenging program of works
- The proven ability to build and maintain networks
