About the Role

 

We are seeking the talents of a driven operational leader to join the team at Mining Area C in the capacity of Superintendent Mining Production.
 
Reporting to the Manager Mining Production you will enable the Load and Haul teams to achieve the safe delivery of iron ore to the WAIO supply chain as well as managing change through the MAC Roster Transition to 2/2, fleet transition to incorporate Komatsu 930E Trucks, and deploying Autonomous Haulage.  Your ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a variety of key stakeholders across the BHP business will be integral to your success.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Evaluating safety and operational performance and driving change to achieve safety, cost and volume targets through processes, equipment, and technology initiatives.
  • Provision of insightful productivity analysis and governance of data in line with the BHP Time Usage Model to enable good decision making by Mining leadership.
  • Implementing corrective actions to resolve the root cause of complex operational risks/deficiencies and prevent re-occurrence.
  • Meeting Supply Chain requirements and continually evaluating and implementing opportunities to improve.
  • Embedding BOS practices across the team – Implementing improvements that guide teams to focus on activities that add value.
  • Mentoring Supervisors and Technical personnel to develop broad skillsets in the team.
  • Conducting regular leader-led improvement reviews/assessments to support teams to capture, track and implement improvement ideas for all routine activities on site.
  • Partnering with relevant operational and functional teams (e.g., HSE, Risk) to develop and govern site standards/procedures.
  • Considering and explaining the risk implications of different alternatives and using this to make effective and informed decisions.

 

The role will be offered on a 4 days on / 3 days off, 5 days on / 2 days off, 4 days on / 3 days off, 9 days on / 5 days off roster fly in fly out of Perth.  

About You

 

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced Operational Leader ideally with a background in either Production, Planning, or Maintenance. You are extremely output focused with a demonstrated track record in mentoring and coaching others to achieve outstanding results. You possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective business partnerships. As the successful candidate, you will ideally possess the following:
 

  • Demonstrated experienced in a similar level role
  • Degree qualified in a related discipline is preferable however not essential
  • Solution focused with the ability to work well under pressure
  • A genuine passion and drive to create an inclusive workplace which is free from harassment, discrimination, and victimisation
  • The ability to work effectively with others and provide constructive feedback where appropriate
