The challenged Ahead
The Superintendent Operational Readiness, reporting to the Manager OR Minerals Americas, will lead the work designed to define the Operational Strategy and Plan for a portfolio of Concentrator/Leaching/Tailings Plant Projects. The candidate will bring a demonstrated strong background in Business Readiness for Large Capital Projects, Operational Readiness activities, project studies, project delivery, and demonstrated leadership in strategic planning and execution of these activities for Large Capital Projects.
The Superintendent Operational Readiness will be responsible for the robust integration of Operations in the study and execution phases and the definition of the operational readiness strategy, commissioning strategy and plan to ensure business readiness of a portfolio of Concentrator/Leaching/Tailings capital projects to achieve the business case and required level of service delivery.
In this role you will:
• Support HSE performance through proactive leadership, apply BHP's risk management framework and build a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
• Leads and integrates the development and maintenance of the Operational Readiness strategy, standards, processes, and plans for capital projects. Ensures and is responsible of the management of change for the complete scope of Ops Readiness.
• Ensures the development and execution of a capital optimization program, identifying improvement initiatives to increase capital efficiency and productivity within the Operational Readiness scope of the Portfolio of Project.
• Provides Commissioning, Operational Readiness and Business Readiness expertise and coordinate resources deployed into the Project team for the development of Commissioning and Operational Readiness related deliverables, including but not limited to plans, processes, and procedures.
• Act as a single point of contact for the Project during early study phases for all and Operational Readiness deliverables and inputs.
• Elaborates and manage the OR budgets and schedules for both study and execution phases.
• Responsible for ramp up readiness from planning to execution from Identification phase through Execution.
• Manage risks and implements and monitors controls related to Operational Readiness scope and key value drivers for the portfolio of capital projects.
• Support and conduct data-analytics on all aspects of operational readiness execution, optimization, and improvement projects.
• Lead value creation through application of continuous improvement techniques to program standards and procedures.
What we expect from you
• Metallurgic, Chemical or Mechanical Civil Engineering
• 20 years of Process Mining experience in development concentrate and hydrometallurgy large & mega projects in different stage Identifications, Selection, Definitions and Executions
• Copper and Molybdenum experience with Concentrators and Hydrometallurgy preferred
• Experience with asset hierarchies’ establishment and maintenance planning systems, handling standard work instructions, processes and procedures development and training within green and brownfields plants preferred
• Fluent in Spanish and intermedium to advanced English level
