The challenge Ahead
The purpose of this role is lead a team focused on the provision of project control & analysis (e.g. scope, estimated/actual cost, planning and scheduling, budgets, changes, progress and forecasting) to influence the on-time and on-budget delivery of project objectives. Coaches and develops team leaders / teams to deliver high performance.
• Identifies opportunities to optimize value, manages associated risks and applies Optimized With/Optimized Without framework principles to create and preserve maximum value from projects across BHP
• Manage and develop teams, focusing on guiding and motivating team members. Their role involves coaching, enabling teams to deliver, and aligning efforts with organizational goals

• Defines project objectives/schedules, identifies critical activities, monitors the project plan/schedule and drives continuous improvement initiatives across projects at BHP
• Monitors and manages project performance to deliver projects in line with safety standards, requirements, budget and scope
• Develops, predicts/forecasts and benchmarks project costs and estimates in line with industry standards, principles and practices
• Solid and demonstrable technical skills in terms of leadership and review in the preparation of Capex, Schedule and business cases
• Develops safe project delivery and contractor performance strategies to maximize portfolio value and enhance improvement and innovation
• Plans, structures and develops technical reports that are clear to both technical and non-technical audiences to deliver clear conclusions and recommendations
• Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders
• Plans, tracks the delivery of and manages a project to generate value and drive the achievement of project outcomes
• Conducts presentations and facilitates workshops using storytelling to connect, influence and engage the audience
• Sources information, plans and conducts analyses to support evidence based decision making
• Designs and implements governance/assurance practices and Management of Change procedures to control value outcomes across BHP
What We Expect From You
Requirements:
• A Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction, Business, or related/relevant discipline
• 15 years of experience in Project Management Roles. 10 years of experience in Project Control roles. Minimum experience leading project control teams of 5 years
• It is important to demonstrate experience in project control in studies and field roles
• Previous experience within a similar role in Study and/or Execution will be highly regarded
• A demonstrated understanding of principles and governance in Project PC&A Services sub-functions of risk management, cost estimating, planning and scheduling, cost engineering, and project controls., risk and assurance and project information management
• Demonstrated leadership and cultural development of teams enabling high performing outcomes in PC&A
• Exceptional communications skills with the ability to influence across various functions and levels
• Orientation to promote an environment of respect and wellbeing is a must
• Availability to work on site and/or in Santiago when appropriate
