You will be based at our South Flank mine site on a fly-in fly-out roster (4/3,5/2,4/3,9/5) located approximately 130 km by road north-west of Newman.

About the Role

 

We are seeking the talents of a highly skilled and experienced technical Process & Capability Superintendent to join our Fixed Plant Processing and Maintenance team.

 

Reporting to the Processing Production Manager, you will be responsible for guiding and inspiring a multidisciplined team. Your ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a variety of stakeholders across the BHP business will be integral to your success.

 

In this key position, you will: 

 

  • Focus on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader
  • Engage, develop and coach your team whilst ensuring an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
  • Drive the improvement of end-to-end production performance and operating conditions 
  • Focus on Continuous Improvement through identifying technologies and equipment for process plant design and optimisation
  • Lead by example and strive to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste 

About You

 

Your demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring both operational and engineering teams in a complex operational environment will contribute to your success in this role.

 

In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:

 

  • Tertiary qualification (bachelor’s or above) within the following fields: Chemical or Process Engineering, Metallurgy or Science is a requirement
  • Operational experience with ore handling plants, wet plants and analytical laboratories
  • Technical experience with identifying and implementing initiatives to improve Plant Performance
  • Experience with Material Handling issues and Product Quality Variability is highly desirable
  • Collaborative and solution-focused with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Continuous improvement mindset
