About Mt Arthur Coal



Mt Arthur Coal is an open-cut coal mine 100 per cent owned by BHP. Located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales it's the largest producer of energy coal in the region, operating alongside olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and the nearby residential community of Muswellbrook.

About the Role



Mt Arthur Coal is current seeking an experienced Superintendent Production Execution (Dispatch).

This role is offered on a Monday –Friday, day work roster reporting to the Manager Production.

The work involved will use your leadership, project management and technical skills. You will be a focused self-starter that has a drive for innovative, high-quality outcomes. Someone who can build effective working relationships across technical and operational teams and is comfortable communicating to management, technical and operational people.

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Lead the Production Dispatch team
  • Interface with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Be accountable for team outputs on safety, Production ,cost, compliance and scheduled work
  • Coach and mentor the production teams in BHP Operating System (BOS)

About You

 

  • Proven experience in mine dispatch, production control or fleet management
  • Experience in open cut coal mining or large scale mining operations
  • Strong understanding of fleet management systems
  • Ability to lead and develop a high performing team
  • A proactive, solutions focused approach to operational challenges
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across departments
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast paced, real time environment
  • A commitment to safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Relevant qualifications in mining, engineering, operations, or equivalent experience
