About the Role

 

Reporting to the Rail Network Capacity Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and governing the rail strategy and portfolio through the integration of inputs, process and people. 

 

This role will see you integrate and build collaborative relationships across a broad range of teams who are defining or delivering change to the rail network to provide prioritisation and clarity on portfolio risks, schedule, resourcing, cost and value. 

 

Location 

 

The role will be based in Perth with site travel or in Port Hedland on Residential or FIFO basis offering flexible rosters options.

 

Key responsibilities: 

 

  • Assists in the translation of corporate objectives into actionable plans and coordinates inputs into life of asset, rail master planning and strategic asset management plans
  • Develops integrated deliverables and integrates work across the portfolio
  • Defines and documents long-term strategy, planning and portfolio management processes for rail
  • Leads and coordinates strategy, modelling and portfolio routines
  • Coordinates and prioritises study and capital required to achieve the sustain and growth plans
  • Assists with business case development, benchmarking, and implements prioritisation methodologies across the portfolio
  • Critically evaluates information and applies strategic and systems thinking to structure presentations and insights for relevant audiences 
  • Assists in identifying and assessing risks to support safe and productive performance outcomes
  • Engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Strengthens relationships with key support teams to ensure an integrated approach to the planning, execution and governance of strategic plans and improvement initiatives

About You

Your relevant industry experience coupled with strong communication, analytical skills and financial acumen will ensure success in this role.

 

You will have following skills and experience: 

 

  • Relevant tertiary education would be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in Program, Portfolio or Project management 
  • Strong verbal and written communications abilities 
  • Previous experience or background within Rail, Mining or heavy industry is desirable
  • Exposure to long term planning, strategy and studies management is desirable
  • Exposure to decision and investment evaluation is desirable
  • Exposure to project controls tools and processes is desirable 
  • Financial and commercial acumen
  • Ability to prioritise and effectively manage multiple deliverables across stakeholders
  • Foundational management experience and engagement of teams that support high quality and engaged delivery
