About the Role

 

Reporting into the Mining Operations team, this role is a key enabler for underground infrastructure delivery at Prominent Hill. You will work closely with our embedded Raisebore Contractor to ensure raiseboring activities are executed safely, efficiently and to plan, providing high-quality outcomes that enable downstream construction activities including grizzlies, truck loading chutes and associated infrastructure, and collaborate closely with the site operational and technical teams.

 

 

This is a hands-on leadership role that balances contractor management, safety leadership, planning discipline and quality assurance in a complex underground mining environment.

 

 

 

This role is based at Prominent Hill, FIFO from Adelaide or Pt Augusta. Flexibility for either a 4/3 or an 8/6 roster is offered.

 

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Provide strong safety leadership and ensure all raiseboring activities are executed in line with BHP safety standards and site requirements

  • Lead and manage contractor performance, including contract compliance, commercial awareness and relationship management

  • Oversee the delivery of ore passes and ventilation raisebores to schedule, cost and quality expectations

  • Coordinate closely with project, engineering and construction teams to ensure seamless handover to downstream works

  • Provide input into project planning, scheduling updates and progress reporting

  • Identify, assess and manage operational and project risks, ensuring effective controls are implemented and maintained

  • Maintain a strong focus on quality assurance to ensure infrastructure is delivered fit-for-purpose and to specification

  • Assist with Operational Readiness delivery activities, to ensure that the package of works being undertaken is operational upon completion.

 

About You

 

You will be a motivated and experienced underground mining or projects professional, with a strong focus on safety, delivery and collaboration.

 

 

You will bring:

 

  • Demonstrated contract management experience, ideally within underground mining or infrastructure projects

  • Experience contributing to planning and scheduling, including progress updates and coordination with project teams

  • Strong capability in risk identification, safety leadership and control implementation

  • A proven quality-focused mindset, ensuring work is delivered to specification and ready for downstream construction

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively with contractors and internal teams
