About the Role

We are enthusiastically seeking the talents of an innovative and engaging individual to join the BHP team in the capacity of Superintendent Reliability.

Reporting to the Manager, Fixed Plant Maintenance, in this exciting leadership role, you will be tasked with:

  • Leading a team of engineers
  • Driving analytical and business improvement outcomes
  • Overseeing the development and deployment of maintenance Work Strategies
  • Leading departmental compliance with maintenance processes and engage the relevant stakeholders to close any gaps.
  • Nurturing a high performance culture through sharing best practices and striving for unity of effort
  • Influencing key decision-making within the Fixed Plant environment

About You

To be successful in this role you will be a collaborative Leader with excellent stakeholder engagement skills. You are team oriented, process driven, and results focused with a demonstrated track record in mentoring and coaching others to drive change and achieve results.  Ideally you will have previous success in developing cohesive and high performing teams

In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Analytical skills with the ability to understand and identify value
  • Business Improvement expertise with experience in lean / agile methodologies
  • A ‘relationship’ Leader with the ability to build open and transparent business partnerships with multiple stakeholders
  • The ability to influence with credibility
  • The skills and genuine desire to support, mentor and coach your team


You will be based at our ‘Area C’ mine site on a fly-in fly-out 5/2/4/3/9/5 roster.  Our Area C mine is located approximately 100kms North West of Newman, West Australia. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
