Location
The role will be based at Port Hedland on Residential or FIFO basis offering flexible rosters options.
About the Role
Reporting to the Rail Network Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for guiding a team of multi discipline engineers who enhance the Maintenance performance and benchmarking through defect elimination, continuous improvement, strategy and reliability fundamentals.
This role will see you empower teams and build a cohesive group across a broad range of technical areas including track, rail surface, resurface, signals, comms, welding and civil.
Key responsibilities:
- Drive reliability improvements and the elimination of defects in the end-to-end maintenance system inclusive of defects in parts, procedures, work quality and processes
- Review performance metrics and benchmark performance across the site and other businesses
- Deliver comprehensive insights of reliability data, initiate maintenance strategies and changes to mitigate emerging risks
- Support the development of operating standards and procedures
- Assess life of equipment, infrastructure to evaluate capability and optimisation of maintenance activities
- Develop and optimise strategies that enable safety, reliability and performance to be maximised
About You
As a passionate leader and effective communicator will see you successfully guide and coach your team as well as influence your key stakeholders to ensure the success of our operation.
Your relevant rail industry experience coupled with analytical, problem-solving skills and financial acumen will ensure success in this role.
You will have following skills and experience:
- Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering degree or Reliability engineering qualification would be highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience in Rail Engineering reliability maintenance programs will be beneficial
- Previous experience or background within Rail, Mining or heavy industry is desirable
- Knowledge of defect elimination and root cause understanding experience coupled with problem solving skills
- Experience developing maintenance strategies and plans
- Exposure to cost reduction strategies with financial and commercial acumen
- Ability to prioritise and effectively manage multiple deliverables across stakeholders
- Foundational management experience and engagement of teams that support high quality and engaged delivery
- Experience with SAP will be advantageous
