About the Role

 

 

We are currently recruiting for a Superintendent Reliability to lead the Reliability Engineering and Product Support team to deliver preventative maintenance programs focused on improving mobile and field equipment performance, achieving productivity metrics within the expected budget and supporting the supply chain process across our Mining Area C operation.


 
Located at Mining Area C, within the Mobile Equipment department and reporting to the Manager – Mobile Equipment Maintenance, this role will align operating, engineering and maintenance standards. You will incorporate feedback into your decisions from different stakeholders, performance systems and defect elimination processes to enable optimum performance of equipment across the business.  You will work closely with the execution teams to ensure that improvement opportunities are identified and implemented and that the teams are skilled in the various business process systems.
  

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and implementing improvement initiatives that optimise maintenance cost and continually improve equipment reliability to support the business plan.
  • Engaging with the Operations, Supply, Finance and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to optimise maintenance performance.
  • Optimising maintenance strategies by working with Functional support and execution teams to keep relevant, efficient and accurate.
  • Manage product problems directly with the OEMs to ensure solutions are identified and implemented throughout the site.
  • Proactively monitor and identify performance deviations from targets to anticipate and prevent loss.
  • Proactively identifying chronic defects of priority equipment and promote a defect elimination culture by example and optimising maintenance by eliminating defects & waste
  • Ensure accurate budgets are submitted on time and work closely with finance business partners to achieve this.
  • Implement performance and improvement routines as per the BHP operating system as well as show maturity across all operating system practices
