About the Role

 

You will form part of a progressive and supportive leadership team and will have the chance to further develop a broad range of skills in the areas of problem solving, leading through change, and, visualizing and managing performance. The Superintendent Tactical Modelling role is responsible for supporting safe production (volume, quality and materials handling) through the development of Tactical Resource Models which inform the two – fives year mine plans, partnering with peers from across Geoscience to deliver our priority projects, and, for building an inclusive and diverse high performing team.  

 

Reporting to the Manager of Mine Geology, this position will work with multidisciplinary teams to explore new ways of working that can unlock resource value and deliver deposit knowledge.  

 

In this role you will:  

 

  • Lead with impact and energy. You will shape the direction of the Tactical Modelling team and influence teams throughout the broader Geoscience department. You will prioritise understanding customer needs and focus on simplifying and standardising workflows.  
  • Promote a culture of innovation by collaborating with subject matter experts within the Geoscience function and Centres of Excellence to further industry-leading practices in geological modelling and resource estimation.  
  • Participate actively in compliance-to-plan (C2P) processes by contributing valuable input to planning activities and investigating discrepancies between planned and actual performance. 
  • Build and maintain productive relationships across the organisation, including Planning, Technical and Environment, Integrated Operations (IOPS), Resource Engineering, Marketing, Technology, and execution teams such as Mining and Processing. 
  • Work closely with peers across the Geoscience function to deliver on the annual business plan. 

About You

 

As the successful candidate ideally, you will:  

 

  • Be degree qualified in either geoscience, engineering or mining-related technical discipline 
  • Have demonstrated technical and / or mine planning experience in similar roles or step-up opportunities 
  • Have experience in Geological Modelling and Resource estimations 
  • Be someone who believes they can make a difference. You will also provide guidance to others on how they can apply lessons learned from past failures and successes 
  • Have flexibility to spend time, as required, working with partners and peer groups on our site locations
