About the Role
We have an exciting Superintendent Training opportunity in Copper SA, reporting to the Manager Asset Training.
This is an exciting opportunity to further develop and apply your people leadership skills and experience in a training team capacity, within a mature mining environment. In this role you will fulfil a key position within the training leadership team, guiding and developing a team of training professionals and directly influencing training strategy and performance at the respective operation.
This opportunity is well-suited to someone who has people leadership capability and is looking to be part of a team which is shaping processes and contributing to meeting and exceeding targets while developing our diverse workforce to meet the future needs of Copper SA.
This role will be offered as Adelaide based (with regular site travel).
In this role you will:
- Provide leadership and ongoing support for a team of training development and delivery professionals
- Manage a team of professionals and their workload to designs and deliver training plans and improve training programs to maintain safety, compliance and performance during mining operations.
- Oversee and lead the design and implementation of governance/assurance practices and Management of Change procedures to control value outcomes across BHP.
- Responsible for the Governance and Legal compliance of training across the Asset.
- Support the transition of training programs across Copper SA.
- Drive innovative and creative solutions for adult learners to improve training and education across the assets.
- Work collaboratively with other training teams to improve training delivery and risk management across the Asset.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a strong people leader with a proven passion for developing our people.
Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will see you working closely with site and external stakeholders on a daily basis and ensure operational challenges are raised and mitigating actions are taken enabling you to build trusted relationships across site and functional departments across all levels.
You will also ideally have:
- Experience in leading and developing teams
- Passion for creating an engaging, supportive and inspiring culture
- Commitment to achieving proactive training outcomes
- Formal qualifications and/or equivalent experience in Management, Training, Human Resources or Organisational Development
- Demonstrated experience in Continuous Improvement initiatives, looking at innovation and challenging the status quo
- Forward thinking and proactive work style
- A proven ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans
- Drive to continuously develop those around you
