One of Australia's largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.

 


Roster:  Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 day/night, or days-only roster pattern roster arrangement with residential, FIFO ffrom Adelaide and DIDO options available for country SA.

 

 

About the Role

 

In the role of Supervisor Maintenance  (Refinery) You will be an integral part of the team and report into our Maintenance Superintendent.

 

In collaboration with other department Supervisors, you will be a key contributor in the continual improvement in building a high performance team that will ultimately deliver safe maintenance activities to comply to our weekly maintenance schedules, operating standards, procedures and defined processes to achieve optimal maintenance outcomes for the operation. 
 


 In this role you will:

 

  • Be involved in creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader by engaging and developing through mentoring and coaching your team
  • Identify, build and develop your teams capabilities through ongoing and regular development
  • Perform and improve BOS routines to implement a safe working environment, waste out opportunities towards the plant with your team members to continuously uplift but improve our culture capabilitys
  • Prioritise the execution of work based on condition of risk of equipment to prevent unplanned failures and supervise the execution of the weekly work schedule
  • Plan and schedule break in work as based on risk of equipment failure within a 7-day period and the compliance to the daily weekly plan
  • Work with other departments and customer’s to develop but execute the weekly and daily defined Production scheduled ensure we optimise all daily opportunities 
  • Identify and implement Maintenance Execution improvement initiatives with support from the Reliability Maintenance team
  • Allocate resources to achieve optimal maintenance outcomes as part of work activity planning / scheduling teams
  • Offer continued development and mentorship to your team and ensure competency of individual maintainers in the safe performance of their duties
  • Supervise the execution of maintenance activities related to process control systems within the Operation, including the software and hardware for these systems
  • Co-ordinate commissioning activities related to modifications and small projects where required
  • Perform large, planned shutdown outage durations, provide a high level of in field leadership ensuring our teams and contract parties have the support to perform planned tasks to a high safe completion rate

About You

 

  • Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’
  • Australian recognised Tertiary or Trade qualifications in relevant maintenance field(s) or engineering discipline(s)
  • Experience with local safety and statutory regulations will be advantageous, as well as Front Line Management qualifications
  • Production line manufacturing experience is preferable including robotic systems
  • Can demonstrate a high level of maintenance optimisation and strategy frequency reviews
  • Perform well with a high performing team with limited time to make good smart decisions based on the condition that arise
  • Ability to use and pull resources to make good team and business decisions where needed
  • Quality focussed with a drive to achieve results for the team
  • Ability to balance multiple incoming priorities and effectively deliver on customer expectations
  • Confidence to work across a range of disciplines and levels to foster mutually beneficial and cohesive relationships
