About the Role
As an experienced Supervisor Aviation & Facilities Management you will manage all aspects of the Aviation contract to ensure continuous improvement of services are delivered on site and ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.
In this role you will also be responsible for conducting regular service monitoring and auditing of contract performance, KPI’s and, and provide back up relief for the departments Facilities management looking after the Village operations and Maintenance.
This role will be based at Prominent Hill and will FIFO from Adelaide on an 8 days on / 6 days off basis.
In this role you will:
- Mitigate risk for the business by ensuring all aviation (i.e. CASA) service requirements, federal and state regulations, standards, statutes, processes, and procedures are effectively identified, proactively managed, and delivered upon.
- Ensure that the aviation and aerodrome activities meet our current and future plans and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and coordinate all flight and aviation services to ensure all performance targets are met and options to improve site experiences are maximised.
- Ensuring compliance with the BHP aviation standards including Basic Aviation Risk Standards (BARS) requirements.
- Oversee site bus contract and manage schedule
- Daily support and oversight of the Prominent Hill facilities management contract.
- Review existing processes and procedures with a clear vision and dedication to improving, streamlining and where possible automating service delivery.
- Seek out and review customer satisfaction regarding services and where improvement opportunities are identified, ensuring critical stakeholder engagement occurs and follow-up activities are explored and implemented.
- Leverage synergies, economies of scale and sharing opportunities to facilitate improvements with other BHP assets.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory/ managerial role within aviation, mining, hospitality, tourism, or similar environment.
- Proven experience and understanding of how to leverage partnerships to improve service offerings continually.
- Highly developed working knowledge of, or commitment to, developing capability relating to the aviation sector, including aerodrome management, and understanding of industry and CASA regulations.
- Previous experience in building and maintaining effective systems that will deliver the highest levels of safety and performance whilst achieving production targets.
- Strongly developed commercial acumen and negation skills, including experience in managing diverse, high-value contracts.
- Proven ability to foster strategic, collaborative partnerships with service providers, which improves service delivery.
- Previous experience in acting on customer feedback but also ensuring a focus on the long game and key strategy delivery.
- Proven ability to engage others and develop relationships across a diverse workforce and one that understands the value of team engagement and recognition.
- Demonstrated ability to create open lines of communication and proactively schedule contract partner performance meetings/reviews to align priorities to deliver on outcomes and KPIs.
- Well-developed ability to engage with stakeholders to ensure the solution meets requirements, monitoring and escalating variances in project performance, schedule and cost as required.
The following qualifications, accreditations and licenses are important:
- Aerodrome Reporting Officer certification from an RTO
- Valid Drivers’ license
- Aeronautical Radio Operators Certificate (AROC) and Managing Contracted Aviation Risk (MCAR) training
Also well considered are:
- Human Factors Training (aviation) and Emergency Management (aviation)
- Valid Dangerous Goods-General Awareness, Manual Handling, Fire Warden, Mental Health First Aid, Provide First Aid including CPR, Ground Handling, Refuelling, ARO, CASA Damp Supervisor, HR License
