About The Role

 

Goonyella Drill & Blast Team is welcoming a new Blast Supervisor who can help shape a safe, high-performing and supportive work environment.

As a Blast Supervisor, you’ll play a key role in coordinating daily blast activities to support safe and efficient production outcomes across the Goonyella operation. You’ll work closely with a skilled and supportive team, ensuring high-quality planning, execution and monitoring of all drill and blast activities on site.

 

In this role, you will:

 

· Lead and support the Blast crew to deliver safe, compliant and effective blast outcomes

· Oversee daily shot preparations, timing, QA/QC checks and blast initiation

· Collaborate closely with Drill & Blast Engineers, Shotfirers, and Production teams to achieve schedule requirements

· Contribute to a culture that prioritises safety, teamwork, continuous improvement and clear communication

· Support training, coaching and development of team members

· Champion inclusive and respectful ways of working across the blast team

To be successful, you will have:

 

· Shotfirer accreditation / Queensland Shotfirer Tickets

· Previous supervisory experience within a Drill & Blast or blasting operations team on a coal mine site

· Strong knowledge of drill & blast planning, field operations and safety processes

· The ability to build trusting relationships and support others to perform at their best

· A calm, inclusive and proactive approach to decision-making

· A commitment to maintaining a positive safety culture and high operational standards
