About the Role

 

The backfill department is responsible for the production and delivery of the Cement Aggregate Fill (CAF) material required to support our underground operations. With one of the biggest cement plants in Australian and a state-of-the-art Paste Plant approved for construction, it's an exciting time to join the team to grow your career!

Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Production Surface you will be leading a team of CAF Plant Technicians in order to meet the mine’s overall backfilling requirements.

 

Key accountabilities of the role;

 

  • Leading CAF plant teams across two crews in order to meet backfilling targets for Olympic Dam Mine
  • Ensure all safe work systems, procedures and standards are adhered to through regular workplace inspections
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised workplace
  • Providing coaching to teams across safety, production, culture, portfolio and BOS principles
  • Ensure relevant BHP, Olympic Dam or department information is cascaded to CAF Plant Technicians
  • Coordinate CAF plant activities across stakeholders including Maintenance, Asset Integrity, Supply and others
  • Working with peers to achieve CAF Plant production targets in line with plans and forecasts
  • Manage team attendance, training and performance to ensure sustained safe production
  • Manage, investigate and escalate health & safety events as per the Event Management Process
  • Provide solutions to and escalate significant production delays to ensure quick resolution.

Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a day shift 8/6 roster, with residential, FIFO or DIDO options available.
