Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO) is an integrated system of four processing hubs and five mines, connected by more than 1,000 kilometres of rail infrastructure and port facilities in the Pilbara region of northern Western Australia.​ Our iron ore business includes integrated iron ore mines, rail and port operations in the Pilbara region of Western Australia: South Flank, Jimblebar, Newman Operations, Port Hedland Ports, Yandi, Mining Area C.

About the Role

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual who is keen to build their experience as a Leader and join the Autonomous Haulage Equipment Team as a Delivery Supervisor.

You will lead and manage a team to ensure project deliverables are met safely and within schedule. Reporting to the Delivery Lead - Equipment Readiness, your key deliverables will be:

 

  • Establish and maintain a culture of trust, respect and openness encouraging team members to create a safe and continuous improvement environment.
  • Coach and lead a crew of multi skilled trades.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure maintenance tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Compliance with WAIO standard procedures, legislation and regulation.
  • Establishing safe systems of work focusing on standardised work throughout the workshop.
  • Management and reporting of incidents.
  • Prioritise scheduled activities through managing capacity and demand.
  • Attend meetings to provide input for timing, delays, sequencing and resource allocation.

About You

 

The successful candidate will be self-motivated, committed to safety, have strong communication and interpersonal skills allowing you to build relationships and collaborate with multiple teams.

The ability to plan, organise and coordinate a team with a variety of tasks within a changing environment will be essential.
 

 

Additionally, you should also possess the following:

 

  • Hold or in the process of obtaining a Statutory Position (S26) qualification.
  • Have previous leadership experience in a maintenance execution role or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of Mobile Equipment Maintenance, experience in Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) desirable.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership through your regular core routines (Pre-start, Team Meetings, One-on-One’s, Time in Field, Assigning work, Handover and Cross Team Meetings).
  • Be a visible and proactive leader in your team’s working environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multiple customers and stakeholders.
  • Create an environment where two-way feedback is invited, encouraged and people feel safe to do so.
  • Remain open to new ideas, adaptable to change and ability to seek and understand any given scenario Ability to understand and manage risks within the workplace and out.
  • Ability to problem-solve and support a sustainable resolution.
  • Experience with 1SAP, Fiori and Standardised Work is desirable.
  • Ability to work autonomously but know to escalate any given scenarios if required.
  • Continuous drive for improvement and doing what is right.

Location and Roster

 

You will be based at our ‘Area C’ mine site on a fly-in fly-out 8D6X, 7N7X roster. 

Our Area C mine is located approximately 100kms North West of Newman, West Australia. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, netted cricket pitch, tennis and basketball court, beach volleyball court and recreation room including a pool table, darts, table tennis, TV and DVD player.
