About IROC

 

Perth City Square is home to BHP Iron Ore’s state-of-the-art Integrated Remote Operations Centre (IROC). Our Control Centre operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using advanced, real-time technology to enable visibility and control, across the entire Iron Ore supply chain.

As a technology enabled centre of excellence, IROC employees work collaboratively with site on a shift-to-shift basis to make faster decisions improving safety and optimising value across the supply chain.

About the Role

 

Lifestyle Roster

 

Employees on this roster enjoy two full weekends off out of four and will align to the following shift rotation: 2D2N5X, 2D3N4X, 3D2N5X. Shifts are 12.5 hours including handover and you will benefit from additional shift allowances, as part of your remuneration package. As an added benefit, those on a Lifestyle Roster will also enjoy an additional week of annual leave per year.

 

Reporting to the Superintendent Autonomous Drill Control, you will play an integral role by:

 

  • Overseeing the effective operation and support of the fleet management system across the Autonomous Drill Fleet

  • Monitoring and assessing the work performance of the team against their KPIs

  • Providing team member motivation and growth through regular interactions, informal reviews and performance appraisals. Utilising appropriate performance management tools when and where required

  • Developing and actioning individual training and development plans for team members

  • Conducting regular engagements with Site Stakeholders to build relationships and improve cross team collaboration

  •  Ensuring all incidents, near misses or hazards are reported and investigated to ensure compliance with the incident reporting procedures

  • Managing the allocation of resources to achieve planned outcomes and execution of the plan

  • Utilising established Field Leadership systems to recognise and control at risk behaviours and situations

  • Managing and promoting safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.

 

About You

 

As the successful candidate you will possess the following:

 

  • Be first and foremost, focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team

  • Trade qualification, education to Year 12, or other education

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with vendors, customers and stakeholders

  • Front Line Management or similar training – advantageous

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in safety and risk mitigation (safety observations and risk assessments)

  • Experience with project management and / or project delivery, including improvement work

  • In order to adhere to IROC’s Fatigue Management Policy you will need to live within a 45 minute commute from City Square.
