Mt Arthur Coal is an open-cut coal mine 100 per cent owned by BHP. Located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales it's the largest producer of energy coal in the region, operating alongside olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and the nearby residential community of Muswellbrook.

About You

 

To be successful in this role you’ll possess:


•    A relevant experience.
•    Australian manual C class driver’s licence – essential.
•    A proven track record of safety management in an industrial, or commercial environment.
•    Working knowledge of Work Health Safety Legislation.
•    Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement.
•    Demonstrated leadership of personnel
Previous experience using SAP – preferred.
•    A working understanding of the requirements for multiple trades, such as electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, mechanical/diesel fitting and fire protection systems.
•    Effective stakeholder / customer engagement skills and the ability to build relationships across work groups.

About the Role

 

The Supervisor Maintenance Infrastructure role covers a range of tasks to support the safe and efficient operation of the Field and Infrastructure department, with a focus on maintenance work and compliance.  The role is a critical aspect to the success of Mt Arthur Coal now and into the future.

 

Reporting to the Superintendent Infrastructure, this opportunity will allow you to grow and develop as a team leader and is an integral part of our dynamic team responsible for directing, guiding and monitoring work to ensure safety and efficiency. Your relevant experience in either trade qualification, construction background, engineering or maintenance exposure and problem solving skills will allow you to think on your feet and identify improvement and optimisation initiatives across the site.

 

With your overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development. You will support and coach your team with developing the work schedule to ensure completion of all routine and breakdown work in a timely manner. Assist with work planning to ensure materials and equipment are available for completion of scheduled work. Assist with development of site budgets and 5 Year Plan to ensure upcoming routine and project work is suitably identified and resourced and participate in Field Leadership activities to ensure adherence to safety procedures.

This is a full time residential role working lifestyle roster

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Coach and develop team members, ensuring there is a clear plan for the professional & technical growth of the individual and the team
  • Ensure the Infrastructure team follow standard work management processes aligned with 1SAP and are an integral part of work management across the site
  • Participate in the weekly pre-planning, planning and scheduling meetings and required shutdown meetings to ensure alignment and commitment of resources to the work schedule
  • Contribute to supporting a continuous improvement culture that delivers results across safety, culture improvement, through-put increase and cost reduction
