About the Role
As the Supervisor Logistics, you will work across both Carrapateena and Prominent Hill to be able to manage bulk and general freight deliveries across both sites for BHP Copper SA.
You’ll contribute extensively to the effective day to day operations and will be an innovative thinker with a strong head for business and budget management, experience in a similar role is not essential as we are looking for people who consider the big picture and bring their perspective to our operations.
This role operates on a 5/2, 4/3 roster basis with weeks alternately spend at Prominent Hill and Carrapateena sites (with flexibility). This role is FIFO from Adelaide.
In this role you will:

Review usage of bulk freight on site and co-ordinate between 3PL / Vendor / area owner for deliveries

Review and co-ordinate deliveries of general freight to site including segregation of BHP and contractor freight

Review and complete time in field with BHP and contractors for back freight process and ensure freight is fit for transport

Complete field leadership (PTC and CCO) with bulk contracts and deliveries to ensure safety and process procedures are being followed

Raise and approve purchase orders for Carrapateena and Prominent Hill, both general freight and bulk deliveries

Attend/lead 3PL monthly routines

Review and support WOPIFOT POD rollout and management at Prominent Hill and Carrapateena

Complete end of month process for Carrapateena and Prominent Hill bulk products

Engagement with all stakeholders on site regarding freight/delivery enquiries

Review and maintain site access and BHP access for 3PL teams team members in ORG chart.

Support and follow up with any escalations raised by 3PLs

Communicate all relevant safety updates to 3PL Supervisors on site

Co-ordinate freight tracking enquiries, urgent freight, and oversized specialised freight
About You
-
Demonstrated experience role within transport, logistics or freight is required

Rail logistics experience is highly desirable

Experience working with inbound bulk and general fright

Proven ability to foster strategic, collaborative partnerships with service providers, which improves service delivery

Experience with contract management

Contribute to driving continuous improvement initiatives in your work and embodying a safety culture.

Be a strong safety leader, demonstrating high personal standards and positive leadership behaviours.

Deliver quality time in field conducting field leadership and coaching others.

Have excellent communication skills and can build strong relationships across multiple levels

Demonstrate effective management of HSEC incidents by ensuring that relevant incidents and hazards are identified, reported, investigated and managed.

Previous people management and project management experience.

Well-develop analytical and problem-solving skills.

Computer literacy in Microsoft suite system and SAP or similar ERP system.

Current full Manual Driver’s licence
