Mt Arthur Coal is an open-cut coal mine 100 per cent owned by BHP. Located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales it's the largest producer of energy coal in the region, operating alongside olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and the nearby residential community of Muswellbrook.

About the Role

 

 

As the Maintenance Supervisor within the CHPP Maintenance team, your main accountabilities will be to manage a team to safely deliver at their optimal performance. This role reports into the CHPP Maintenance Superintendent.

You will also be a champion for business improvement, and you will be able to help support your team on this journey.

You will be a safety focused self-starter that has a drive for Team building and development along with quality execution and cost-effective improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead a Team of trades maintaining all aspects of the CHPP
  • Execute the weekly plan
  • Build the capability of the team and work collaboratively with others
  • Deliver on customer requirements
  • Lead and manage contractor partners
  • Shutdown execution

 

This is a full-time residential role working a Monday to Friday roster.

 

 

About You

 

 

  • A safety leader
  • Extensive experience or knowledge of the 1SAP Work Management process
  • Trade or Engineering background
  • Supervisory experience with building team performance (Appointed or soon to be)
  • Experience in Mining, Oil or Gas is desired. Experience with heavy equipment in other industries will also be considered.
  • You will have proven ability to work autonomously across multiple teams and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Lead by example and actively work by BHP values and purpose.
