About the Role
We are seeking a talented Maintenance Supervisor to join our Operations Services team in Western Australia.
This role works a dynamic 182 shift roster, ex‑Perth, with travel across multiple BHP Pilbara operations as required.
Reporting to the OS Superintendent Maintenance, this position leads a team of highly skilled technicians to safely execute balance machine maintenance across the Eastern Pilbara.
You will coach and mentor your team, foster a strong safety culture, and ensure safe systems of work are in place. As a Statutory 26 Appointed Person, you will uphold compliance with the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and associated Regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster positive and productive team relationships and culture
- Lead the safe execution of maintenance on balance machines and fixed plant equipment
- Set and maintain clear safety standards
- Lead safety investigations and risk assessments, ensuring high‑quality reviews
- Build capability through coaching, mentoring, and technical support
- Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordinate balance machine maintenance with internal stakeholders
- Collate and analyse key work management metrics in a timely manner.
About You
You will ideally possess:
- Mechanical trade qualifications (preferred, not essential)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence positive outcomes
- Proven leadership capability and experience building effective teams
- A strong field‑leadership presence and the ability to set clear behavioural expectations.
- Experience with work management systems (e.g., 1SAP) or the ability to learn quickly
- Extensive fixed plant maintenance experience or similar industry background (ideally balance machines)
- Experience in scoping and planning multi‑discipline work in a fixed plant environment (preferred)
- Shutdown experience (advantageous)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project
- C Class manual driver’s licence
- Statutory 26 Appointed Person Certificate (preferred; site appointment acceptable).
