About The Role

 

The South Flank Project is an expansion of BHP's existing Mining Area C hub, located approximately 130 km by road north-west of the town of Newman. This project has potential to become one of the largest standalone iron ore processing centres in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore.

The Supervisor Mining Production is pivotal for the safe execution of operations for mining production including supervision of production activity undertaken by front-line operational personnel in accordance with operating standards, procedures and defined processes and to deliver optimal production outcomes in line with targets.

 

The role will be offered on a fly in, fly out of Perth roster of 7 days on, 7 nights on, 7 days off.

About You

 

The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead positive change and support continued development. As a leader you will have an absolute commitment to working safely in compliance with site safety standards and mine working procedures to ensure a safe and environmentally healthy workplace. This will include leading and coaching production technicians in best operating practice, whilst ensuring safety and work standards are maintained to such an extent that work may be stopped if standards are not met.

 

To be considered suitable applicants must have:

 

  • At least 3 to 5 years supervisory experience gained within a large scale, open pit mine operation;
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relationships and be adaptable to various communication styles;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, lead and facilitate cooperation from production personnel;
  • Previous experience in planning, organising and coordinating a variety of mining production tasks;
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, SAP and/or similar systems and databases;
  • Knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Mine Industry Regulations.
