About TROC

Perth City Square is home to BHP’s Technology Remote Operations Centre (TROC).  TROC operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week supporting a wide range of safety and production critical Operational Technology (OT) to prevent or minimise impacts to our Minerals Australia assets caused by failure in critical technology services.a

About the Role

This role delivers the safe supervision and operational performance of TROC 24x7 shift crews as they execute critical technology service monitoring and response work activity.  This position will work on our Lifestyle Roster, working a pattern of days and nights, with a block of days off at the end of each swing.  Employees on this roster enjoy two full weekends off out of four and will align to the following shift rotation: 2D2N5X, 2D3N4X, 3D2N5X. Shifts are 12.5 hours including handover, and you will benefit from additional shift allowances, as part of your remuneration package. As an added benefit, those on a Lifestyle Roster will also enjoy an additional week of annual leave per year.

Working within the team based in the Perth Technology Remote Operations Centre (TROC) and reporting to the Superintendent OT Operations, your duties will include:

  • Leading a diverse team of Technology Specialists
  • Leading the Major Incident Management process and engaging with Technology and site operation stakeholders during major events / incidents / changes
  • Working collaboratively in a Network Operations Centre (NOC) environment
  • Leading safety performance by adherence to policies, procedures and training requirements
  • Leading cultural performance by coaching an embedded culture of trust, inclusion and respect
  • Leading operational performance by setting and clearly communicating operational priorities, targets and expectations
  • Leading optimised resourcing by ensuring the required capacity and capabilities are in place to achieve maximum possible effectiveness and efficiency of the shift crew

Leading continuous improvement by driving idea generation and supporting the initiation of improvement requests to enhance safety, process, systems, technology, and reliability

About You

You will be a self-motivated and effective communicator with leadership experience.  Some skills and experience desirable for the role include:

  • Demonstrated experience in supervising, leading and managing multi- discipline teams of technical specialists and professionals
  • Experience in managing and enabling change
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and work with others for a collective outcome
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a range of cross functional stakeholders
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex information
  • Strong time management skills
  • Operational experience within industrial or mining environments will be well regarded but is not mandatory
