About the Role
BHP Technology is looking for a Supervisor to join our Technology Site Operations team to support Saraji Mine in Central Queensland. As Supervisor Site Operations, you will be responsible for the
preventative maintenance and technical field support provided for mine sites Operational and Informational Technology Systems. The role is a Full Time position with BHP on a DIDO/Residential role on a Wednesday to
Tuesday (7/7) Day Shift Roster-Reporting to the Superintendent Technology Operations, your key accountabilities will include:
- Site Responsible Person for Technology on site (permanent and contractors) and ensures all works are carried within Safe Systems of Work in a changing work environment. At time you will also need to Supervise other Workers and Tasks
- Manages and coordinates tasks and resources available to ensure incidents and events can be resolved in accordance with the business priorities/expectations
- Supervisor has a hands-on component and will have a higher focus on network switches, servers, applications, CCTV, Physical Access Management, Digital and Analog Radio, WIFI, End User Compute, Wireless Telemetry System (WTS). SAP and Service Now being the two work management software Applications.
- Collaborate with other departments Production, Maintenance, Project teams, remote teams (applications/networks/hosting, cyber and vendors) to ensure the effective operations and maintenance of the technology environment to support business systems/operations including IT/OT networks, Wi-Fi, servers, applications, and associated services.
- Work with other technical specialists, by way of work management, field leadership,management of improvement opportunities, hazard identification and reporting.
- Works with the Technology Service owner teams, Project Managers and Site Engineering to facilitate site-based project activities to ensure safe execution of work and minimal disruption to operations.
- Acts as the escalation contact for Technology site operations issues.
About You
As the successful candidate will have:
- Cert 3, or Trade Certificate in Industrial Wireless Communications, Electronics or Industrial
- Electrical/Instrumentation
- Familiarity with Mining Operational Technology Infrastructure, Communication Networks IT/OT,
- WiFi, Servers, Security Applications
- A proven track record of Safety within a Coal Mining operational environment or similar preferred.
- An ability to prioritise effectively and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Proactive in identifying areas of improvement in the management of Technology systems.
- Good analytical skills for high level of problem solving and sharing of solutions within the department
- Takes ownership of ideas/solutions and sees them through to maturity.
- Build relationships with customers/partners/site departments
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills
- Australian C class driver’s license
- Coal mine exposure would be advantageous
- Open/unrestricted Cabling Licence preferable
Desirable experience:
- SAP Work Management
- Working at Heights, Confined Space and First Aid training
- Gallagher and ISIC certified.
