About the Role


BHP is pleased to announce Leadership development opportunities for females who have experience working mining or heavy industry to join the BHP team within our BMA Queensland Coal operations. 

The Development Supervisor Program, which is 18 months long, has been created to provide the opportunity for those that have limited mining knowledge but strong leadership skills to allow them to practically learn about our business on the job whilst also enhancing the skills and behaviours necessary to lead and inspire teams, helping deliver value to our BMA asset and ultimately drive the success of BHP. We have opportunities in our Production team. 

This opportunity is offered on a drive-in-drive-out (DIDO) or Fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) from Brisbane or Cairns. Roster will be Mon-Thurs initially for the first 6 months before progressing into a 7&7 roster.

About You


You will have strong  leadership and team supervisory skills, with prior experience being directly responsible for a number of direct reports. The safety of your people and those around them will be a key priority. Having previous leadership experience in a similar environment such as heavy industry or similar will help you adapt quickly to the complexities leading in a mining environment can bring.

We would love to hear from you if you have experience in Port and Rail, Maintenance, Mine Control or Production or similar industry experience. Having a trade or engineering background will help but this is not an essential requirement of the role, your passion for developing and leading teams will be key.
