About the Role


It’s an exciting time at Poitrel Mine Site’s Production Execution team as we accelerate our continuous improvement journey, we currently have a leadership opportunity at BHP Mitsui Coal (BMC) Poitrel Mine Site for a motivated self-starter that is committed to learning and assisting with maintaining industry best practice.  This is a site based role working a 7 days off / 7 night shift roster.

Your experience as Supervisor or current people leader looking to be part of a team which is shaping processes and contributing to meeting and exceeding targets will ensure your success. As an appointed Supervisor you will be responsible for leading a team of multi-disciplined Operators including Truck and Excavator Operators in executing the mine plan, achieving safe and optimal outcomes for the Production Mining team. You will be actively involved in field leadership activities and engaging your team to reach their full potential whilst you are being coached and supported by the onsite leadership team.

In this role you will:


  • Execute production activities to plan through the management of people and equipment
  • Lead, coach and mentor a crew of multi skilled operators to deliver the plan and build a high performance team
  • Identify improvement opportunities and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure efficiency and production is maximised.

About You

Our successful candidates:


  • Will have an understanding and exposure to a  Production Department of an Open Cut Mine Site environment
  • Have proven leadership experience, leadership aspirations or possessed leadership capability and potential
  • Have a desire to lead, coach and mentor a crew to deliver of the plan and build high performing teams
  • Have an understanding of BHP systems and processes
  • Experience with Mine Star would be advantageous
  • Able to identify improvement opportunities and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure efficiency and production is maximised.
