About the Roles
Port Hedland is home to our Port and Rail Operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia. BHP is currently looking to connect with individuals keen to join our world-class Rail teams for upcoming opportunities.
We have a few opportunities across Rail in our West Australian Iron Ore Asset, some of our roster's include FIFO or Residential 8/6, 2/2 or 6/6 - Bringing incredible balance and flexibility to suit your lifestyle.
Our Supervisor and Leaders are part of a multi-functional and diverse team supporting BHP Rail Operations to safely and efficiently achieve departmental and BHP WAIO business objectives.
In this role you will:
- Ensure compliance to safe operating practices aligned to the Rail Safety National Law and our Rail Rule Book;
- Support the delivery of the business plan through:
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development;
- Manage team performance and continue to drive a positive improvement culture with a focus on safety, empowerment and efficiency;
- Communicate a clear and exciting vision for the future of Rail Operations including the context for change to build understanding and commitment;
- Develop and maintain the team’s technical capabilities and knowledge within the team.
About you:
- A proven track record of safe work practices in a high-risk environment
- A motivated problem solver who is dedicated to continuously improving their work environment
- An energetic and enthusiastic approach to work, with a drive to develop and learn
- Demonstrated experience contributing to a diverse team environment
- Sound time management skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience in leadership roles would be advantageous
- A valid and current driver's licence
