About the Role


We are seeking someone who shows passion in their work and this is evident through their drive for team development and mentoring. You will supervise and mentor a designated shutdown cleaning crew to help drive improvement and efficiency in the ramp down preparation of fixed plant ready for shutdown activities.

 

Reporting to the Superintendent Mechanical Execution, you will work in Port Hedland, which is one of the largest iron ore loading ports in the world, on a residential (5&2) or FIFO arrangement, (5/ 2 4/ 3).

  

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Supervise and mentor Shutdown coordination team
  • Single point of contact for the Superintendent to understand all shuts coordination queries
  • Liaise with Shutdown and MCOE teams in the planning of all site shutdowns
  • Oversee the delivery of shutdown schedule and governance of yearly budgeted hours for Shutdown Lines of responsibility, ensuring compliance to Shutdown Management framework through shut planning and execution cycle
  • SMF Management & interactions scope management and prioritisation, 1Plan alignment, coordinates with key stakeholders e.g., AIMS, project remediation, Outage & shutdown support, shut budget management (cost and duration with support of area coordinators)
  • Drive an inclusive and diverse culture
  • Build relationships across functions and departments to achieve positive business outcomes
  • Actively drive continuous improvement and embed lessons learnt from previous shutdowns, gather feedback and information from site and operations to be collated for post outage review
  • Analyses work management performance against KPIs to identify and deliver improvement initiatives
  • Strong commitment to the field leadership program and coach field leadership activities
  • Support the health and wellbeing of team members
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development

 

About You

 

  • Strong safety leadership skills and history of field leadership participation
  • Production or maintenance background
  • Be process driven
  • Experience using 1SAP work management and or project management is desirable
  • Ability to work autonomously to meet needs of stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Exceptional risk management skills
  • An energetic and enthusiastic approach to work, with a drive to develop and learn
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Sound time management skills
  • Valid Australian ‘C’ class license
  • Eligible to obtain Statutory appointed supervisor 

 

To be successful in this role you will be an effective and collaborative communicator with the ability to manage multiple business priorities simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, allowing you to influence while also enabling you to build relationships across departments.
