About the Role

 

We are currently looking for an Electrical Shutdown Supervisor who will provide leadership to a team who will be focused on the safe and quality execution of the shutdown plan and schedule. This is a permanent position on 8 days on 6 off, 7 nights on 7 off roster FIFO from Perth. 
 
Reporting directly to the Shutdown Services Superintendent, you will be responsible for supervising a diverse group of electrical maintenance technicians and isolation officers executing fixed plant maintenance activities in a shutdown environment. 

 

Key responsibilities include: 
 

  • Overseeing positioning de-energisation of fixed plant equipment & balanced machines for shutdown maintenance. Installation of lockbox permits by correctly identifying isolation points and following lock out and zero energy confirmation processes.
  • Execution of planed electrical maintenance activities in a shutdown environment.
  • re-energisation and commissioning of fixed plant equipment & balanced machines
  • Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
  • Follows the shutdown management framework to achieve required milestones within the current shutdown cycle
  • Driving continuous improvement within your team utilising the BHP operating system

  

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:
 

  • Statutory Supervisor as prescribed in the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022
  • Trade qualified electrician or a Bachelor degree in electrical engineering 
  • Understanding of Fixed Plant Processing and Shutdown Maintenance in the mining industry
  • A knowledge of maintenance practices
  • Ability to Identify and implement safe work practices
  • Proven ability to communicate and follow plans clearly and concisely
  • Experience with SAP and Asset Management Software will be advantageous
  • Experience working in a team that requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders
