About BHP

At BHP, we believe our purpose goes beyond mining: we work to improve lives and create a more sustainable future. We are a global resources company with operations in more than 90 locations worldwide.

In Canada, our presence is growing with the development of one of the most significant potash projects in the world — Jansen. This project reflects our long‑term commitment to sustainability, community engagement, and economic growth.

About Potash and the Jansen Project

Imagine being part of something truly world‑class — something shaping the future of sustainable agriculture and responsible resource development. That’s what the Jansen Potash Project offers.

Located about 140 kilometres east of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Jansen is set to become one of the largest and most sustainable potash mines on the planet. With a CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment, it represents the largest private investment in Saskatchewan’s history, and a bold step forward for BHP in Canada.

But Jansen is more than a mine; it’s a long‑term opportunity to build something meaningful. During construction, it will create ~5,500 jobs, and once operating, ~900 permanent roles. Whether you're looking to grow your career, contribute to a sustainable future, or be part of a legacy project, Jansen could be the place where it all begins.

Why BHP?

At BHP, we are transforming the way mining is done. We embrace innovation, sustainability, and inclusion to build a smarter, safer, and more human future.
We are proud to be recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2025, a testament to our dedication to fostering a positive, diverse, and rewarding work environment. Here, you’ll be part of a team that values safety, integrity, performance, and collaboration.

The Challenge Ahead

As Supervisor Site Operations, you will lead a team responsible for the management and support of on‑site operational technology and systems. This includes technology that enables safe, reliable site operations, such as OT and IT physical infrastructure.

You will play a key role in ensuring timely service delivery, effective incident response, and the ongoing performance, safety, and reliability of site‑based technology. Through strong leadership, you will coach and develop your team to deliver high‑performance outcomes while maintaining BHP’s unwavering commitment to safety and customer value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team delivering on‑site operational technology services and physical hardware support.
  • Ensure effective and timely responses to service requests, incidents, and problems, managing the Technology service catalogue.
  • Coordinate and prioritise incident response for IT/OT‑related systems to minimise disruption to operations.
  • Lead end‑to‑end lifecycle management of physical technology hardware across site operations.
  • Build, deploy, patch, and troubleshoot end‑user devices while overseeing low‑level asset and inventory management.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) that govern operational performance, reliability, and optimisation of managed services.
  • Monitor and maintain safety systems, advising on system safety issues and implementing safety lifecycle management strategies.
  • Identify and manage operational and technology risks using BHP’s Risk Management Framework.
  • Engage and manage internal and external stakeholders, including operational leaders and technology partners.
  • Coach, develop, and support team members to build capability, trust, and a high‑performance culture.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Experience working in an operational environment as an IT/OT technician or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of IT Service Management, incident, problem, and change management practices.
  • Experience with SAP Work Management and ServiceNow (SNoW) processes and systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop teams in a safety‑critical environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence up to Superintendent and Manager level.
  • Solid understanding of safety and workplace management, with a commitment to achieving safe and productive outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Required: IT Service Management Framework certification (ITIL Foundation).
  • Recommended: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, IT, or a relevant trade equivalent.
