About the Role

 

The Supervisor Training Development is responsible for the leadership of their team to ensure classes, tools and materials provide an outstanding learning experience for new and existing employees and in-scope contractors, ensuring learners have the tools to work safely, productively and contribute positively to our culture of safety, respect, care, and inclusion.

 

You will ensure that training products meet or exceed the expectations of our customers (students, trainers and the business) through the development of quality programs for delivery to intended audiences, achieving programs’ objectives, and ensuring learning transfer occurs for each participant.

 

 

This role is based in Adelaide with travel to site as required.

 

 

As part of this role you will:

 

  • Ensure integration of BHP’s safety culture into all programs
  • Contribute expertise, identify training needs, and develop, update, and continuously improve curriculum as outlined in the Training Governance Framework
  • Ensure controls, including critical controls are in place to effectively manage training
  • Influence training directives and the development of new and different training packages to support delivery

 

 

 

 

You will also lead a team with a remit including:
 

  • Staff coaching
  • Management of workload to achieve required deadlines.
  • Establish and manage cross-skilling for team members, including self, to ensure back-up.
  • Ensure on time compliance with individual training and site compliance activities.
  • Scheduling and approval of staff leave requests

About You

 

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within mining, processing or heavy industry preferred
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Demonstrated experience with both the development and delivery of training programs and packages
  • Experience leading teams or direct reports
  • A drive to champion continuous improvement and challenge the status quo, through the use of new learning technologies and multimodal forms of training
  • Proactive approach to progress reporting
  • A working knowledge of BOS would be advantageous
  • Willingness to lead and implement change, as well as influence and mentor others in training and safety principles and behaviours
  • Proven ability to build highly effective working relationships across a range of stakeholders and working groups
  • Demonstrated initiative, leadership and ability to work with minimal direction, being resourceful and proactive in your approach
  • Demonstrated commitment to BHP’s values and achieving an incident and injury free workplace. Committed to advocating for your own personal safety and the safety of others
