Job Description

 

Sitting within BHP’s Ethics and Compliance department, this newly created team is BHP’s dedicated team and phone line service to provide information, choices and options to support and empower people impacted by Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment (SASH).

  • Specialists SASH Support

 

This vital SASH Support team will respond to confidential calls on an extended work hours basis and provides exciting variation in how and where the team will work. This consists of a mix of full time or part time, Monday to Friday employees based in our BHP offices with flexibility to work from home. There will be a requirement for some roles to have an early start / early finish (morning shifts) and late start / late finish (afternoon and evening shifts), with permanent and 12 month fixed term roles available. The team will be based in Brisbane, Perth and Santiago to cover all BHP locations globally.

 

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

A new phone line and end to end case management process has been designed to care for SASH impacted people. In this position, you will:

  • Respond to confidential calls from impacted people who want to make a disclosure or anyone who has a SASH query;  
  • Explain BHP processes and options for investigation, restorative justice and specialist care services;
  • Maintain contact with impacted persons to ensure they are able to find support where required and navigate through BHP systems and processes;
  • Support leaders on how to manage SASH cases focusing on the wellbeing of the impacted persons and the rest of their teams;
  • Drive continuous improvement by promoting and providing visibility on the needs of impacted people; and
  • Facilitate interactions between key stakeholder teams.

 

 

About You:

 

We are looking to hire a professional, diverse and multi-skilled team where members will:

  • Have knowledge of Trauma Informed Care principles and a person-centred approach;
  • Have a strong understanding and respect for diversity and inclusion;
  • Well-developed communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with a high EQ;
  • Come from a background in case management, healthcare, counselling, social work, psychology or human resources;
  • Experience working with people who have experienced SASH will be highly regarded and Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or other Social Sciences is preferred.

 

Proficient bi-lingual Spanish / English ability is required for Santiago based applicants.
