About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Production Engineering, the role of Technical Writer and Document Controller will manage, update and rationalise the Rail Operations suite of controlled documents to drive improvements in safety, productivity and culture. This opportunity can be FIFO or Residential with a 5:4 2:3 roster or 5:2 roster respectively.
To be successful, you will ideally possess the following:
Skills and attributes:
- Proven technical writing and editing skills
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and convert complex information and concepts into plain English that is clear, concise and easy to understand
- Strong research skills including gathering and analysing data from multiple sources to develop procedures as well as training materials
- Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications and control document management systems with associated workflow
- Advises and supports team with lifecycle management of documents
- Administer the Change Management process and tracks general progression and compliance
- Facilitates education sessions for department promoting use of document system processes
- Leading the process of continuous improvement in the management of Rail Operations documentation.
- Proven ability to engage and build relationships across multiple layers of the organisation
About You
You will have experience in the following:
- Technical Writer experience, preferably in the Engineering or Resources Industry
- Document control or information management
- Exposure to audit processes and governance frameworks
- Identifying trends and opportunities with an analytical mindset
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives
